Hi there! I used to be a graphic designer — most notably as one of the art directors of Salon back in its pioneer days. I've done a lot of web consulting (Evite, Mother Jones, Adobe ... more authors and small businesses than I can count) and full-time product management for web properties. In 2000, I launched Readerville.com, a community-meets-content site for readers and writers, and in 2002 a print magazine, The Readerville Journal (named one of Library Journal's Top 10 new magazines). Readerville and I were written about in The New York Times, USAToday, O the Oprah Magazine, Working Woman and numerous other publications. Sadly, it was one of the casualties of 2009.
While running Readerville, I began editing and writing books, chiefly for Sunset Books and Weldon Owen/Williams-Sonoma, mainly on the subjects of food and interiors — details at right. After a foray back into technology during the downturn, I am now concentrating my energy on editorial and community-based projects (both print and online), with an emphasis on areas that are near and dear to me, such as interiors, food and fiber arts, while laying the groundwork for another entrepreneurial endeavor.
